Why does it feel so bad to win?

Lol, that ratboy genius is GREAT.
I am still traumatized with potato knishes, Im scared to watch more videos of him tho, Im scared ill become addicted.

I know they will, but it will last at least 5 minutes, I dont think I can bare with that. Causing suffering to a brother even for a second is not for me.

Lol well I can accept that :P better just me to be cruel than everybody else :) (so actually I care for the world by winning as many games as possible 0_o)

sometimes I feel bad because I only understand the portion which lead to the win. chances are it was a small tactic. not all games are like a crescendo in music. which is what they should be.

When I lose a game, I get a free lesson on how to win a game :-) Free knowledge doesn't seem to be depressing. :-) Unless I lose due to a blunder, then of course I kill my mouse against the wall and smash my screen...

The reason it's so important to strive for improvement is, paradoxically, because of exactly this. Simply beating someone leaves their soul bloodied and bruised, drowned in pain but curelly rescued by its own ability to heal, to play again, and to be savaged once more. The merciful thing is to crush your opponent ruthlessly, to destroy their spirit, crush their soul, forever shroud their hope from the light so that it can all freeze over and they can never be hurt again.

If you quit chess, that will not spare your opponents the disappointment of losing. They will just play with someone else, because they enjoy chess even though they don't win every game. If they don't want to lose, let them be the ones to quit.
When your opponent loses, his rating goes down, and his next opponent will come from a weaker pool of players. So by defeating someone, you make him more likely to win next time.
Enjoy your victories.

ive won 1756 blitz games and counting. At 5 min a game, i have caused almost a week of anguish and dispair.
I am a horrible person...

Lol, true dat.
That is a good way of watching things.
Blunders spice up life, there is nothing better than a good old blunder in a blitz game to get the blood/rage going.

Wow guys, Im amaced (greetings, macer), truly interesting points of view, seems like my brain is wrong or something as I usually feel pain in my heart after loosing, I think I need to get some perspective in my life.
When you are playing chess there are 3 results.
WIN, DRAW, DEPRESSION.

Wait, so if someone wins (s)he is cruel and if someone loses (s)he maybe will be cruel in the future? Then what is the best I can do in your opion? And your theory has a point....but I always make sure I don't play against a motivational speaker before I decide to win my game ;/

I dont know what is the best you can do, life is complicated, reminds me of my math tests. I dont want to get too phylosophical here duds, tears are coming out of my eyes.
Every time you win someone loses, depressing. Every time you win someone else learns, humble. Every time you win someone else gets the opportunity to be closer to your level, SCARY.
Probably the only answer is to draw, do not let your opponent mess it up, just exchange exchange, exchange.
People usually talk about how horrible it is to lose, often times they feel worthless, depressed. They feel like patzers. They are not humble enough to recognize losing is natural, and a good thing, it shows how humble you are.
Confused? Bare with me.
Everytime you lose, someone else wins, and everytime you win, someone else loses.
Losing is horrible, but once you realize your opponent is also a human, and he also lost a game, you start wondering what the meaning of life is.
Just as I realized this I felt bad, my heart stop beating, according to chess.com stats I had won 53 times, I had made people feel sad and depressed 53 times!
Im thinking on leaving chess or playing drawish openings whenever I can, I cant simply win, I feel bad after it.
Any tips? Chess is fun, but I dont want to make people lose nor play drawish openings.
Thanks.
