Why does it take so long for computer to find a chess match?

NOrmally, I play the bots and have had little interest in playing games with humans....for time and convenience. I love humans. I often have to leave the game which does not work well when playing a person. But, over the past 10 months of membership, the few times I have tried to set up a game, it has been unsuccessful. I have walited as long as 6 minutes and no game set up by the computer. Just a little history. When i first joined chess.com back in the early 2000's or it might have even been in the late 1990's, you could see the listed games and/or you could see your own game. You could host a game or you could immediately join a game. It NEVER TOOK any more than a few seconds to find a game. What is going on now? Perhaps a mod with some history might want to answer. Thanks.

I need to add some info to my post above. I have posting a game with 60 minutes limits on each player and the computer cannot find a match. Does this mean that every posted game is only for blitz and rapid. If there is no place on chess.com for the traditional game, then ches.com ought to perhaps post such as a notice that all chess is now just rapid and blitz. No one plays an hour game any more. I will not be renewing my membership if that is the case.

If you're not using one of the quick time control buttons, you're likely going to wait longer to get a game.

Also, the site, as a playing site, didn't start until 2007, with Live games coming later, in 2008 maybe. That said, you can see Open Challenges by using the Custom Game option.

Longer time control games are uncommon. You might look for some clubs that prefer longer formats to find players that are more interested in longer time controls.

Dear Mr. Martin Stahl. Do you just liuke to insult and create conflict. What ever year it started, I was there in the beginnings. I did say it was early 2000s or...

And, at that time, all games were visible in real time as they were posted. It was quick and easy to find a game to play. Do you have any reason to doubt what i am saying?

I went to my account personal info since Mr. Stahl wishes for my guesstimates of things which were not essential to my question to be exact. I was here at chess.com in May of 2008. And, enjoyed playing with others immensely. Now, difficult to find such games.

As mentioned, longer time control games aren't common and then there has to get someone to match with where you're in their rating range and they are in yours.

I just watched for a little bit and saw one member pop up in the Open Challenges with a 60 minute seek.

Wits-end

Perhaps try daily games. I play one day time frames and find opponents quite easily. We can pick up or set the game down as needed.
