Sigh, I had heard that he cheated in an OTB tournament as well.
That's just sad-the problem nowadays is that it is pretty easy for people to get away with cheating OTB. They just go out of the room and plug the position into an engine.
Some of you guys talking like fide CM is stronger than USCF CM on this thread but in the last 5 years I have seen people who are 1400 to 1800 that obtained a FIDE CM and never seen higher than that rating. Yet by definition they can apply and obtain the title. I know this thread is 9 years old and I am reviving, but this is the only real thread in Google search on the subject. I want to find out if anything changed in 10 years.
So did chessdotcom start recognizing uscf CM? And for my reason stated above, please don't cop out and tell me they aren't strong enough. At the time of this writing, because of my reasons above a fide CM is potentially a lot weaker than uscf because the norm requirements are stricter.
And yes I can get a few 1400-1700 CM fide cards if you don't believe it.

The site only recognizes OTB FIDE titles and OTB NM titles for those federations that have them.
FIDE has some ways to get automatic titles based on specific event performances and being officially recognized FIDE OTB titles, those are available here.
Okay, so the tournament was actually called a "Quick Knockout"? I swear, you can't make up crap like this...
