like for example, aronian tends to play complex posistions, but he could just as good as magnus if he played like magnus, simple posistions, good move after good move

1) Carlsen is the best player today, so playing like him is difficult.
2) Different GM have different styles. it's difficult have good result if you try to play calm, strategical positions and long endgames when you're a sharp player and love complex middle-games with lots of tactics and calculation.

Exemples : Tal tried to change his play in the return match against Botvinnik. He stopped playing complex positions, crazy-attack, unsound-sacs, and went on with the nimzo-indian. He lost badly.

Petrossian was a mster of simple positions. When he tried playing sharp lines of the sicilian against attacking players like Spassky and Fischer, it turned out badly too

Becasue they can't play good moves like Carlsen. If the could they would, obviously.

Easier said than done... Carlsen is just so good all around and he has such a great mentallity of going for the win even if it's equal.

This is coming from someone who rooted for anand and thought the match would be very close since carlsen tends to win tournaments by just smashing the non supertop-gms while just being ok against the top.

Now I'll admit that he's more than able to hold himself in a match against a top GM and he's just the rightfull WC

Still, I really hoped for our top, well established gm's to win a match against this talent. (He's extremely good. But hyped by BS media, who take no interest in chess whatsoever)

i would've gotten away with it too, if it wasn't for you meddling kids

"Adopt" like in adoption. Let's try this:

A style, B style, and C style.

1. Let's say B and C adopt A style, then A -> A, B-> A, C-> A. Then A, B, C -> A style.

2. Let's say A adopt B, B adopt C, C adopt A. We have a circle going round and round with no stopping. But one thing for sure is we always return to the same style, no matter where the circle has turned. It always turns at the speed of 120 degrees, or 1/3 pi radian.
