Why is AlphaZero not opening to the public?

I'm just asking this question as I'm curious to find out the answer. I'm under the impression that if this were available to the public, the way people learn chess would change forever.

It was basically a demo, not a product. It also ran on custom hardware so it isn't something that could be released to the general public as designed.
