With his Pawns on e4, d3 and c4, White is already weak on the dark squares.

Trading off his dark-squared Bishop for a Knight (and leaving Black's Bishop now unopposed) is a serious strategic error.

Thanks! I’ve never thought of moves in terms of square color.
