Northern MN is like sweden and alaska.  double digits below zero F for weeks on end, sometimes we hit 35-40 F below zero (and for reference, -40C and -40F are the same if I recall).  You seek shelter and heat or you die.

What does all of this have to do with my comment? Alaska is not bigger than Mexico and even if it was, good luck beating the biodiversity we have here. So thanks for the offer but I have to decline.

The Mexican American war happened 200 years ago so you are not gonna get me triggered. I think America is the biggest a-hole country to have ever existed but they are constantly dealing with mass shootings, terrorist attacks and random veterans riding people over so I guess karma is actually a thing.

eta:  and the deal was 1/2 of mexico for alaska, which as it turns out is very close to the size of mexico:

so giving up half of mexico for a state almost as big as mexico is a big land gain!!

No Im not triggered. Americans have been talking about the American - Mexican war ever since they found out I am Mexican on the internet. Mexico did not even have the roads and infraestructure to control all those territories, they were just empty desert.

Last time an American tried to trigger me with the American-Mexican war I replied: "Did you forget the US lost a war against rice farmers in Asia?". That triggered him good, it was funny lol. Will it do the same for you? 

Alaska is a crappy piece of dirt full of snow, bears and salmon. Mexico is one of the most bio-diverse countries in the world. Give me something else, maybe some plastic surgery blondies. I will then accept the deal.

The vietnam war seems to always hit a soft spot and its effects multiplies when you refer to the Vietnamese as "rice farmers".

Mexico was probably at its weakest point in history and strategic mistakes were made by Santa Anna during the war. I am indiferent to the result of the war. If anything Americans should be ashamed of their acts. I dont see wheres the pride in starting a war that took a bunch of lifes and half the land of a country. 

However I can see wheres the pride of winning against napalm bombs when and constant airstrikes when you only have rocks to defend yourself with, congratulations to the Rice farmers for their actions!

actually the us troops did great in 'nam, they won all their battles and quite handily.  The politicians pulled them out, and the south vietnamese couldn't hold the country against the north without assistance.  American aims in the region were thwarted, and there was a lack of will from our leaders, but our troops weren't beaten by rice farmers.  Our troops kicked @$$ and then were pulled out.  Sadly, it's the south vietnamese that felt the real consequences of their military failure.  And those consequences were very real..not fit for print here!

Fewlio - If you want to see it that way then yeah. The US did what it always does, it invited himself to a country in the middle of Asia that had just fought the French and Japanese to finally reunite as a nation and stopped them from doing just that, joining together and becoming a nation. It then setted up a fake government that had no support and started throwing Agent orange around so that kids 50 years later can be born with deformities and stopped the "spread of communism". What a great victory for America.

Honestly whenever you talk with random Americans you start to reconsider your thoughts. On one hand I dont give a damn about the Mexican American war, the Vietnam War or any stupid War the US has started because it makes no sense to do so. None of the Americans alive had to do anything with those wars.

I know a lot of great people from America and I have even worked with some of them quite nicely so I cant say I would enjoy to see Putin ending up this crap world by nuking them, but then you start to read random American posts on the internet and wonder if after all it is actually a good idea to nuke the damn US and end up civilization as we know it.

I have not wanted to accept it because this is a family forum but I guess it has to do with her hormones actually giving her a feminine physique. If you know what I mean.
