why is it so hard to checkmate with a pawn

i tried getting a checkmate with a pawn man it is hard if anyone else has got it let me know how

The secret is basically getting a mating net.
Box the king in and find a way to checkmate them with a pawn push.

For that to happen, it would be optimal to have their king pinned on the side of the board.

Almost forgot about the pawn promotion checkmate. It is actually considered a pawn checkmate by the way.

Another way to get a pawn mate is by promoting the pawn with a mate, something like the following position:

Here the black king is locked in the corner fo the board, and when the pawn promotes, it's a mate so, technically a pawn mate.
