Why is this a stalemate?

Hey, I'm pretty new to chess and I was wondering why this is considered a stalemate. It's white's turn.

[Edit]White[Edit] has no legal moves (it's illegal to move into check), and he's not in check. That's the definition of stalemate.

Because white's king is not in check and he does not have a piece capable of moving.
