All the perfect plans that I concoct always backfire and none of my opponent's plans ever backfire...no matter how hard i try to find a stopping move, it just won't pop up.  Why me? -sniff- Where's my blanky...

Planning can be one of the hardest skills in chess.

When i was a beginner, i used to play without planning, just trying to find some good tactical move or stop a potential opponent move, but with time and study i got improved in planning..just try to find any plan no matter how bad it is, if you can't find a better plan then stick to it and apply it..if it didn't work then go back to the game and notice the mistake then try to avoid it later..

Learning chess and becoming stronger requires different cascading phases where you learn ever part of the game by time , experience and study..so don't rush things forward. patience is the key.
