Chess.com generally has a larger player base than Lichess due to a combination of factors, including stronger brand recognition, more aggressive marketing, and a more beginner-friendly environment. Chess.com actively promotes itself through sponsorships, streams, and events, while Lichess relies more on its open-source nature and dedicated community. Furthermore, Chess.com's focus on a more casual and visually appealing experience, with features like video lessons and diverse content, appeals to a broader audience.Want more proof? Here's more detail:                         Marketing:                                                                                                                                             Chess.com's business model allows for a greater investment in features and marketing, while Lichess relies on donations and open-source principles. Chess.com is often perceived as more beginner-friendly, with features like video lessons and a more visually engaging interface, which can draw in new players. Lichess, while offering excellent learning resources, might be perceived as less accessible to absolute beginners due to its more focused design and open-source nature. This took along time to write, like 20 minutes

For me, it's the fact that you can reset your account. If Chess.com got rid of that, or if Lichess implemented it then I would jump ship to Lichess because of free unlimited game analysis and a sleeker interface.
