why my rating dropped that much?

In a single day my rating dropped to 2100, almost 150 less than my normal rating in the past 6 months. I even reached 2070 today, lowest maybe in more than a year. I’ve noticed that I’m losing on time on many of the games, in most of them I’m having a winning position and I wasn’t in time trouble actually.

Does anyone else face a similar chaotic situation? Could it be that there are problems with chess.com servers?

I have to say sometimes when I play careless I go below 2200 but, easily I’ll get back to 2200+. Today is not the case. Don’t know what happened, I don’t think player pools is any stronger, I really don’t feel struggle against my opponents.

Hmm, I haven't played lately so I don't know, but that does seem strange.

The usual reason for dropping points would be you are bad at chess, like myself, but after reading this post it seems you’re actually incredibly good at the game, so this is indeed puzzling.

Hope you get your rating points back soon, good luck. :)

Everyone loses points, the more interesting thing to me is his account is 8 years old and he's played 40,000 games... in other words he's familiar with the usual ups and downs.

Yes of course I’m familiar with having a bad day, or unlucky time facing cheaters etc, and I played too many games. I got back a bit of my points but still under 2200, unacceptable to me, but at least I’m not losing on time too often.
