Esports are a whole different definition of the word sport.
Why No Chess in Olympics?

Chess should be in the Olympics because you are moving your hands and when you say check or good game you are talking. Also chess was an exhibition sport in 2000. It should be in this summer Olympic sport this year.

The Olympic sports are primarily about physical prowess.
Chess has its own competitive structure. It needn't, and shouldn't, be in the Olympics.
Chess is no more a sport than is any other board game anyway. To call it a sport is to bend the word sport way out of shape. Same goes for so-called e-sports.
Video games are not a sport.

I didn't think of it that way. Another board game also involves even more moving of the hand and even more talking. The game of Sorry involves a lot of card drawing and piece moving, so lots of physical activity. And of course a lot more talking than chess, when you say "SORRY" to your opponent. Sorry and chess in the Olympics would be a ratings bonanza. That'll keep the guys that run the slomo cameras busy.

So non chess players would be guessing at what chess players will do? Couldn't they do that with existing events? Like non figure skaters guess which skater will fall down first? And then get a prize for guessing right. Even better would be non Sorry players could guess at which Sorry player will get knocked off the board first. Or non Monopoly players could guess at which Monopoly player will land on Boardwalk first. If thats not Olympic excitement I dont know what is.
