Your time ran out so it won't be a draw unless he didn't have mating material left.

You think I don't know that my time is up?
So the question ... why is not tables in this position of theoretical tables? where the other side cannot progress and only plays randoms to win by time. Shouldn't it be tables? What is the reason why tables are not declared?

Your time ran out and your opponent had mating material; it doesn't even matter that he had a knight - in fact, if he only had a pawn against five pieces, you would still have lost because the pawn could promote to a queen/rook which is mating material.

The way that you might like to think of running out of time is that your opponent is able to take control of your pieces and if he can demonstrate a win the game is theirs.

Play with increment. Then you can demonstrate the draw.

Technically it shouldn't be hard to make 50 moves and then claim a draw... but premoves take you 0.1 secs for some reason (so you need at least 5 seconds left, and probably even more). That's why I play mostly with increment. If the game is bullet, then simply bad luck - time is a big factor there.

well, then what is the point of a clock?
