Besides the already mentioned inevitable abuse of a pause button to gain time to think about a position, your life problems are not your opponent's problems.

If you go in a Toilet while your time is paused, you can Think about your moves in the Toilet.
You can see why that would be cheating.

I had this OTB game where the toilets were SO FAR AWAY from the tourney hall
I was desperate to go to the toilet but I only had 5 mins left on my clock. My opponent had 45 mins or smth
Whenever I moved I tried to make a run to the toilet but then I'd look back and see my opponent moved instantly as soon as I stood up. So I ended up having to play that rest of the game while desperate to pee 😑

For some reason I'm cursed to go to the toilet every minute, and because of that, I lose a bunch of time when I'm playing chess, and I sometimes lose on time. I think I drink too much water...
