Those who talk don't know, and those who know, aren't talking

I really like people who have the courage to speak their thoughts and their minds. They stand out because they stand up. They are too busy living their lives to sit in judgment of others. But standing up and standing out make them easy targets for cowards to judge them.

Untrue that those who "aren't talking" aren't talking. They are talking "behind closed doors", sitting in judgement of others, spreading ugly rumours, pretending to know "truths" that can only be revealed "in hiding"...

It's malevolence.

It's that small town evil that goes on all over the world...usually there is the "circle of confidences" those within that circle feel "special" because they are included in on that "secret truth"...and then there are those who are the victims of that "secret truth" (usually, just some ugly rumour) ...

Ok.

Is it time for another Indian Bollywood song? :)

Indian girls are great!!!!

Ask me. I'm suppose to marry one.

Somebody judged them so they feel obligated to retaliate. Simple explanation and it will go on and on and on as long as humans exist.

You can't change basic human nature. We like placing blame even if

it's our fault.

That is so true. Its rare that someone owns up to their part in things and its refreshing when that happens and i have a lot of respect for those thats do.

Hey dez, bring on another song and dance. Are you still dating Martin Sheen?

Especially much older people.  They'll judge you on the dumbest stuff.

Meh, at least we're getting better with the whole judgement thing.  Back in the day people thought you were less due to completely arbitrary divisions like commoner or royal.  However, in India such arbitrary divisions still exists with the whole caste thing.  Even here in America there's the Christian/Heathen divide.  Don't we have enough actual things people are judged for like occupation?  Heck, people think you're somehow less for being single (there's documented singles discrimination.  Arbitrary label discrimination strikes again.  And the divisions based on real world genetic things like race or homosexuality are bad enough.)

Today most social class issues are rooted in education and early environment differences.  While not completely arbitrary (A doctor is a doctor not because a stupid piece of paper says so but because of his objective knowledge and skillset for example and disbarring a lawyer doesn't change the fact they have the knowledge and skillsets of a lawyer so they are still such) is still silly.

It's simple. We all are keen to judging others because all of us humans are selfish bastards who feel the need to find flaws in everything else and who think that have the right to tell off others based on those flaws. It's called ego. No one who doesn't have an ego, even if it's small, isn't human. All humans have ego. We want perfection, but we usually don't care if ourselves aren't perfect; we tend to care more whether the others are perfect. But no one is perfect, so there is all this judging around. Amd it will never stop. Because, let's face it...

The human race is an enormous failure of the universe.

The human race is an enormous failure of the universe.

It's lowly behaviour the motors of which can be traced to jealousy, malice, bigotry, intolerance -- all those diseases of the human soul.

That said, when 2 people are all out fighting - lashing out at each other verbally, or pummelling each other physically - they are justified in "exorcizing", so to speak, their conflict.

The verbal duel is the best way to go. The best man will win - in a contest of the wit. The best man doesn't necessarily win in a physical contest (as is observed in domestic violence cases).

Eckhart Tolle is wonderful with his explanation of the ego..

To answer the title:-

People are very keen to judge other people because we determine certain traits and characteristics to be either good or bad, and as a result, a judgement about the person is derived.
