Why reporting does nothing to trolls?

I just said "reported" since he was trolling, and look all the conversation from there, do we really need to suffer this? he is a paid user, not even anonymous. Lately, when I have a mistake, I receive this type of messages more and more often, it is really sad.
(It was a blizz game, BTW, I was reporting him when he said the cat thing, not stalling).

Are you implying that paid users are allowed to freely troll since they pay? That's even more disturbing.

What I'm saying is this site is a business. And the #1 priority of any business is $$$. So while the site has rules we are supposed to follow. If you really clamp down on the trolling and useless posts. Their goes mom and dad's money. It's like beer commercials telling people to drink responsibly. They have done the morally correct thing, but still want you to drink a lot.

I am not sure that's a good analogy. Drink commercials say that because they are enforced to by laws, not to do a morally correct thing (yes, the law itself was approved due to morality, but dirnk commercials follow the law, no morality). Chess.com, on the other hand, should ban these behaviours. I don't see people stop using it, but behaving properly in the future, with some other account, once they see there are consequences. A lot of kids play chess online, it is a serious task to keep chess.com free from toxic comments.

I agree with you. And I mean no disrespect towards this site. But again. It comes down to $$$. The site gets strict = loss of revenue. The site decides to implement a waiting period before being able to post = loss of revenue. The site really cracks down on cheating = loss of revenue. The site starts requiring a credit card = loss of revenue. Why do you think the site just locks posts and doesn't delete them? So they can still be seen, which causes people to start a new post about the same subject.

And the biggest problem issue here is the really poor AI chat box. So why not hire people? Again $$$

There are many types of trolling, ranging from harmless to dangerous. Forums prioritize the harmful trolls-- harassers, flamers, hate mongers, misinformation disseminators, derailers, and provokers over the less harmful types like satirists, meme posters, and punsters. Somewhere in the middle are the spammers, sealions, and sock puppets All of the above types can be easily found in active threads at present. This site would be better if the Harmful trolls went on permanent vacation.

i think someone should start a toxic clan on chess.com so we can all join and fight back against the trolls

Reports like that made by the OP don't get action because there is no way to attach the screenshots to a report and they don't want you to make accusations in the forum.

The only way to get direct action would be to use the Support link and to escalate because of "Urgent abuse" and it is not clear that the posted chat would meet the standard for that.

So AI would tell you to just block the user and shut down your in-game chat.

I stopped allowing in game chat a long time ago. It was almost never a positive experience

There is much probably no need to attach a screenshot, I assume the moderators can easily access to the ingame conversations between the reporting and the reported guy.

I just spent 20 minutes reading the kids, marry, slap thread and I saw nothing very trollish.
