Why Resign?

Well, I do get irritated, when some dude resigns when he loses a bishop or a knight or a rook, but I don't think there is a point in playing with a queen down...

So I resign. If I have been outplayed and my only hope of winning is that my opponent does something stupid, then I won’t feel good about winning anyway.
If you get excited when your opponent blunders, just know that YOU didn’t do anything to deserve the win, but I suppose some people only care about winning, no matter how it’s achieved.

I'm trying to see how many games i resigned here on chess.com
Is there anyway to see this? That may shed some light on my view about this resigning business.. it'd be more valuable data than my comments about what i do.
You can filter your 'completed games' by any number of different things, including 'Result type' with a big dropdown list including won by resignation, lost by resignation etc
I'm only a beginner but I don't get why so many people get so butt hurt when they lose their queen they resign. Especially the ones who bring their queen out early. I've managed to salvage quite a few games after losing my queen.
Who says they get hurt by it?! They probably just don't want to waste their time playing a Queen down when they could just start a new game with all their pieces!
