I'm only a beginner but I don't get why so many people get so butt hurt when they lose their queen they resign. Especially the ones who bring their queen out early. I've managed to salvage quite a few games after losing my queen.

Who says they get hurt by it?!  They probably just don't want to waste their time playing a Queen down when they could just start a new game with all their pieces!

I don’t resign unless I have something else I need to do. First, there is always a chance that your opponent will screw up as well. Secondly, if your opponent outplays you at least play out the end of the game so you can learn how to salvage it by analyzing.

Well, I do get irritated, when some dude resigns when he loses a bishop or a knight or a rook, but I don't think there is a point in playing with a queen down...

Some people feel the only reason to play the game is to win. I would rather play a good game and lose than win a game where I played badly because my opponent hung a piece and lost stupidly.

So I resign. If I have been outplayed and my only hope of winning is that my opponent does something stupid, then I won’t feel good about winning anyway.

If you get excited when your opponent blunders, just know that YOU didn’t do anything to deserve the win, but I suppose some people only care about winning, no matter how it’s achieved.

it is good to resign in bad situations

I'm trying to see how many games i resigned here on chess.com

Is there anyway to see this? That may shed some light on my view about this resigning business.. it'd be more valuable data than my comments about what i do.

You can filter your 'completed games' by any number of different things, including 'Result type' with a big dropdown list including won by resignation, lost by resignation etc

Omg this forum is still alive!?

Btw, that's not at all true, winning in a clearly disadvantageous situation is satisfying nevertheless.

Just sayin
