I thought women could play in tournaments with men if they wanted to?

FlamingKatana

Bro there is an entire woman history month, but there is only one day dedicated to men, and that is on november 19. What happened to equality?!

Oh, good. Another one of these threads... where stupidity reigns.

FlamingKatana

It's not stupid, it's an important topic that should be discussed.

There are hundreds of threads with the same topic in these forums. It's been discussed. Just do a search. But lazy AND stupid seems to be the trend these days.

Not in Iran, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, and many other other nations where mixed-gender public activities are forbidden by law. Not for high-level competitions in the past when women's titles were created. FIDE is a global organization that has to take conditions everywhere into consideration.

I doubt that most women in England give a rat's *ss about their access to chess either. Your belief is that female chess players in "those countries" should have NO chance to earn titles?

No they definitely should. My point was that in those countries women are treated like second class citizens. It's almost not worth mentioning they can't play chess with the men as it's so obvious

Interesting topic. But that's the situation in many sports. I would love to see soccer match with both men and women. grin.png

Don't you think we should stop separating the league between men and women?

This is already done. The standard titles (CM, FM, IM, GM, world champion) and the most important tournaments are open to both genders.

It's a stupid troll or a stupid person... either way it's stupid so not worth worrying about.
