Why would a player with a high live rating have a low daily rating

I mostly play daily games and have encountered a number of players lately, especially in tournaments, who have very high live ratings (for example around 2000 bullet) but their daily ratings are several hundred points lower. However, they play much stronger than their low daily rating suggests.
My first thought is they haven't played many daily games yet and are still working on increasing their rating. But when I look at their profile, they've played hundreds of daily games. Next I think it must be because they lost a lot of those games through timeouts. But when I check their game history, I find that isn't the case. Hmm, maybe they lost a lot of games to even stronger players - but no, their average opponent rating is low.
So what's going on here? Are they sandbagging, or am I completely missing something? I know sandbagging is common in live tournaments due to the pairings being based on rating, but these are daily tournaments where the round robin format would make sandbagging pointless.
They are likely playing daily as if it was live.
Different pools and different skillsets. Especially between bullet and daily. Click speed, traps, and flagging someone aren't all that useful in daily.
It could be sandbagging, it could be something else. My daily play quality is all over the place because there are times when I just don't have a lot of time to analyze a situation or really just don't feel into it and wind up treating some moves like blitz flash cards and move in seconds.

They are likely playing daily as if it was live.
I thought about that, but the ratings still don't make much sense. I'm around 1800 and struggling hard against players who are 1500 or even lower, so you'd expect them to be around 1800 as well.
It's possible as the game gets farther along, they'll begin making mistakes, if they are playing quickly. It's also possible that they timeout a lit, depressing their rating, or they haven't played in a while and have improved, but the rating hasn't caught up to their ability.

In daily I have been paired vs the same player in 4 matches (8 games) as part of a series of team matches. This player is rated 1950ish daily but 2500+ in bullet, his profile proudly proclaims he is in the top 1000 bullet players in the world, presumably this means in chess.com. So far it's 3-2 in my favour, the other 3 games are likely headed for 2 draws plus a win for him which would give an even score over the 8 games. He plays his moves almost instantly in most cases, which is levelling the playing field. There is zero chance I would be able to touch him in bullet.
My daily is 400pts below my peak in blitz and 400 pts below my current in bullet. I have many games going on (mostly because I wanted to play in 100 events to get an achievement haha), and never think for more than a minute or two in a position. Once I finish all my outstanding games, I will play one tournament at a time and play more how longer games are supposed to be played.
