Should sport remain largely with the athletic or is there a chance chess will be a force to be considered?

Chess is already a recognized sport by the International Olympic Committee.

in Denmark chess is not seen as a sport. but a 15 year old named Mads Andersen 2468 has been accepted to go on a education-line usually only for sports people.
I think that is progress. the danish minister of education helped him.

it's a mental sport. why shouldn't that be acknowledged? you have to be top fit to be the best chess player both physical and mentally.

In Germany it's technically classified as a "Gehrin Joggen" which loosely translates to "brain exercise.  "

In Russia chess is not considered a sport but a "свинья корова погони атаки."

             NEVER!

IOC DOESN'T RECOGNIZE BOWLING AS A SPORT.

When I say recognoized, I am saying recognized with the understanding of true recognition and what takes place when this takes place, otherwise I would not be asking the question.

Thank you for your research and time that it took from you to gain questionability with the title.

I'm sure we are all clear now. Again, ty.
