Will Dereque Kelley become a GM? Your thoughts?
Well, I was wondering if GM’s have a certain age limit basically of when they can attain GM. It’s like if you haven’t made it by a certain age it’s impossible. He’s 32-33 years old and an IM. So I was wondering if it’s attainable by traditional standards.

Karjakian became a GM at 12...Ben Finegold at 50.
I've heard of people attaining the GM title after the age of 33 so it's not impossible. I don't know wether he is going to do it though.

Of course it's attainable, but ATM he is 450 points shy of the required rating, and holds no FIDE title - let alone the IM one.
