Unlikely. First, he is quite far away from 2500 at the moment. Besides, he would really have to focus on chess and ignore his obligations as a content creator, if he were serious about it. It makes more sense for him to use the "road to GM announcement" to create content.

Not necessarily he has a lot more sources and time now that he's a content creator he just wants to also do other things besides chess

I don't know much about content creation, but I assume that it is a full time job. And he is pretty successful right now. So it doesn't make sense to neglect it to chase a chess title just for the sake of chasing a title.

It is a fulltime job by your also forgetting his is about chess so he can also create content whenever he does a turnement with recaps

And at of all the gms and ims I believe he is one of the most preped in the opening so he has to figure out nerves and skill mostly

FeedThePepperoni

The secret behind getting the GM title is to shoot for a 2800+ rating.

CharlestonViennaGambit

He can.

ChezBoy
No he won’t
MariasWhiteKnight

Now that looks really bad indeed.

knighthunter2024

Probably not.

play4fun64

Ofc Gotham can! All he needs is a coach. If he is willing to pay...

Pretty confident that he won't, I'd be happy for him if he did but I don't think he will. He obviously is far better at chess than myself but he really doesn't seem to have much raw chess talent which is needed to be a GM. Many if not most people underestimate how skilled GMs have to be, because they think linearly. For example: If you're a 1400 technically you're rating is half Magnus's but you are most certainly not half as good as him. And I mean he's (Levy) still putting out videos once a day, so I just feel like he doesn't really have the time to really pursue and achieve being a GM. He's more of a content creator than a serious chessplayer. I mean, let's be honest he doesn't even know how to teach chess. I was curious so I watched his video on the london system, and he basically just said there was a lot of complicated stuff that could happen so you could just look it up. He didn't bother to explain the lines. (If you want someone good go with GM Igor Smirnov. I watched some of his videos and gained 200 elo within 2 weeks. So anyway, pretty confident Levy will never be a GM. Not at all saying I'm a better chessplayer than him, just saying I don't think he has the time or the skill.

He has most of the raw talent even hikaru thinks he can be a super gm what you should be talking about is his nerves

As long as he can get his nerves under control and he wins enough tournaments to get im norms (2300-2500) then it is possible the issue is playing enough games and having the time to do it (which he can also create content about btw )

MariasWhiteKnight

No sorry nerves dont give you almost 300 points all of a sudden.

He is almost at 2300 and he is supposed to play 2600 for three high ranked tournaments.

I wish him the best of luck but I'm not holding my breath.

It does anxiety hurts in chess (like 100 points at least )

I like watching Levy now and again, as I do Simon Williams, but for entertainment as much as chess learning. I would love to see an online face off between them.

When you compare the content to Danya (my favourite chess streamer by far) though, there is a very large gap. I am not sure if Levy believes it himself or whether it is simply for generating content. I would love to see it but I don't think so.

There is but he doesn't need to be a super gm only a normal gm to get the title

MariasWhiteKnight

...

Nobody said he's going to be a Super-GM ?
