Probably not.....I think he may have left his best days behind. Also..I think that Carlsen, Caruana etc. have not peaked yet. With each passing year, it will get tougher for Vishy to motivate himself.

Becuase he has lost twice to Carlsen already. The burden of proof is on the Anand supporters to show how he can reverse this, not on the Carlsen supporters to prove how Carlsen can maintain.

Keep in mind that Anand is 45 years old, and at this point in life skill begins to take a slow, gradual decline. I am close to that age myself, so I do not say this with a lot of joy.

Keep in mind that Carlsen is at an age where his skills are still improving as hard as that is to image.

Keep in mind that there are a new crop of challengers that Anand would have to fight through simply to be able to face Carlsen again.

Keep in mind that Carlsen has handled Anand pretty handily in the last two matches.

If you can successfully argue against all of these facts, you'd be the first.
