Will you please get rid of the Explorer link in live chess?

Sure, I'm mostly interested in whether it's technically allowed or not.

Any form of assistance in live games is prohibited, whether that be an openings database, coaching, or use of books

Daily is a different story

but my thread is explicitly just against the openings explorer link in live games. I don't see why they can't just have a link after the game finishes and take it out of the live interface during games

If I had to guess, it impacts subscription rate very slightly?

Has anybody ask the stuff via the Help-Button? I only play daily games, so it´s not my concern, but it would be interesting to get the answer. Or ask Martin Stahl, an Mod in the forum.

It's terrible even in daily. I'm aware that studying with a game in progress is OK, but the definition of an 'engine' is the problem here. Even in daily it's illegal to get your friend's opinion on a position, or move, or plan for a game in progress. So, you can't ask your 1500 rated buddy what you should play, but with opening explorer you can ask Magnus, Gary, and Bobby with a click or two.

This makes no sense though. I bet there are plenty more people like fluffywhether who just genuinely don’t know if the opening database is aloud in live games. As a newbie I don’t think it would even be crazy to assume that chess.com approves of it because they LITERALLY PUTTING A LINK TO IT WHILE YOUR PLAYING YOUR GAME. If I were a new to online chess I would just think “of course it’s allowed to look at that because they’re literally showing the link right in front of your face”.

Maybe Fischer would approve of this feature?

( I don’t mean that he would have shares in the company. I mean it removes rote memorisation from the game, like 960?
