win by abandonment?

I just played a rapid game, the opponent made a move and while I was thinking, it suddenly said I won by abandonment. Shouldn’t it only give me the win if it’s his move?

Perhaps he lost his connection to the internet.

Yeah, they lost their connection. It’s as simple as that. Or they just had to go or didn’t feel like playing anymore. Be happy you got a win.
