Win, Lose, or Draw

Apologies in advance if this has already been covered ad infinitum elsewhere... but a question I have is this:

Suppose that a there were a series of chess games in which both respective players in all of the games played the game with a sort of theoretical perfection. (or if you don't believe in the concept of perfection... some sort of limit in which the play on both sides approached something kind of like that)

Would those games tend to end in draws, or in white (since it had a slight advantage with a partial tempo) winning?

Chess is not solved so we don't know an answer to your question. We can only guess and/or conclude something based on available statistics.

But the higher the skill of both players, so long as there isn't a significant gap, the more draws. So the assumption that perfect play leads to a draw is not unreasonable.

Is there not an argument to say that in a perfect game of chess neither side makes any moves?
