Apparently it doesn't matter. If your opponent runs out of time, but you do not have enough material to deliver the checkmate, the game will be drawn
He can't win because he hasn't any time. You can't win because you don't have enough material. So is a draw.

Hey just had a game where he ran out of time but it gave us a draw for insufficient material. Why is this? I had king knight he had king queen and 2 pawns.
