Kramnik lost against Andreikin. Wow, Andreikin actually won against Berlin Wall!? That's impressive...
World #2
Andreikin has now beaten Kramnik in three games in less than four months, I doubt that anyone ever did that before in tournament games. And he hasn't even been close to top 20 during these games.
The scary thing is that Carlsen's distance to #2 is bigger than the distance between the following 30 players. I wonder how much time it will take for Carlsen to drop from first place.
Then he would have been #1 for over a dozen years in all and still be only 31 years old (Anand turns 44 in a couple of months)...
As for Nakamura, he narrowly missed out on second spot by losing to Gelfand, his live rating before that game was otherwise enough to be second today.
Doesn't Nakamura play terribly against Gelfand?
I don't know anyone else with so uneven results against other top players. Nakamura has horrible scores against Svidler, Gelfand and Ivanchuk, while he has amazing results against Anand, Caruana and Kramnik.
how is carlsen number 1 if other top super gms have more convicing records head to head against other super gms
More than 75 points behind Carlsen at 2870 the fight for second spot on the rating list is just getting tougher. Situation today:
2. Aronian 2794
3. Caruana 2792
4. Kramnik 2791
5. Nakamura 2789
