Even though Nakamura beat Magnus 3-1 in a blitz match I think Magnus will do better against the field.  My vote is for reigning WBC Champion Magnus Carlsen...if he doesn't withdraw. (Nakamura didn't compete in this event last year)

I was voting for Magnus but in all truth i thought that Hikaru would win. But after seeing Magnus brilliant play as black yesterday my money is back on him. I was rooting for Anand but found out he is not taking part in it this year.

Nakamura is currently # 10 on the live FIDE list, though that's still 60 points or so behind Carlson, Anand and Aronian. At that level 60 points is huge.

I would have put my money on Carlson in the blitz.

Carlson isn't playing at this blitz tournament.

I've only the slightest idea why so many ppl thought Naka would win a blitz tnmt against the very best players in the world.

Naka's online bullet skills are very impressive. But he still isn't one of the top ten players in OTB chess... at any speed.

Having said that, I notice that he has already played all of the top players and only has the bottom feeders left to play in this first half of the double RR.

well considering his live rating is tenth in the world...

Ok, his live chess rating makes him #10. But why not give some love to Karjakin, Mamedyarov or Aronian, who are all higher rated than Naka and also in the blitz tnmt?  And last I checked, all three are doing better than Naka.

I don't have anything against Naka, just the fan club that follows him without looking at the great chess his opposition plays!

I don't follow him much myself or really know much about who'e at the top of high level blitz. I was just pointing out that your statement that he is not in the top ten at any time control didn't make much sense considering his rating.
