I beg to differ. The bongcloud opening gives you an extremely superior position.

I really do not think so. I reckon the Trompowsky gives you the best position. But Ryan if this is true why do you  try to play it in every game ? If it  gives you a superior position you are sure to be in with a good chance of winning.

rich, I'm not good enough to dare try it on a gamely basis, but if you challenge me, I'll be happy to demolish you with it.

Here's why it IS the best:

That's very odd. I think 1. f3 is probably much worse than g4. I've been beaten by the Grob a couple of times, usually because I don't know the lines. There are a few traps for the unwary player of the black pieces...

redsoxfan33

1.g4 and 1.f3 are both pretty badWink

Lol, I got you last time though.

Ok, I blundered. Happens to everyone. Man up and give me a rematch. If you're so good, and the opening's so bad, you have nothing to fear and a good amount of rating points to gain. I'll be waiting whenever you feel like putting your money where your mouth is.

You're all wrong. richie_and_oprah is very wrong. The worst opening is the Bongcloud attack. 1.e4, e5, Ke2.

What are you talking about? That's the most feared and respected opening in all of chess. Only the best dare to play it.

Only the best dare to play it because they know they still have a chance at winning.
