I am fully aware of the, well I can't think of the proper word, and for want of one I will use the word hubris that is implied in a player at the level I am at, trying claiming having played an immortal. However I was rather pleased with having spotted a 4-5 move tactic in a very complicated position, and feel like sharing a game for your consideration.

It was a daily (1 move a day) game and the opponent was roughly a 150 elo points higher.

1400 beating 1300, you mean?

As you have pointed out, Qxd5 is stunning. I am disappointed to have missed it.

Also @PowerofHope great of you to go through the game move by move and give lines. Much appreciated.

I don't have my engine in front of me so here are a few quick  thoughts.

9.Qa4  this is clearly a poorly timed move because, as you pointed out, the WhtK is stuck in the center, he is probably better with Nf3

9 ...  Nc6  I don;'t like Nc6 because White can just respond Bc3 and his bishop sits fairly  safe while block the Qa5+ .  I think a couple better options might be Qc7 or Be7

10 Nf3 a poor response letting Black trade down the Black B

11 Nxd4 looks wrong due to your following move.  I think White is better off with exd

11... e5 seems like a logical move against White's exposed Knight.

12 ... Bd7 is the next logical development, however with accurate play from White (13 Qb4 ) I am not sure the Bishop is in a good place.  e6 and f5 both look fairly tempting to me in order to prepare d4

13 Qb3 is dubious at best as it leaves the king unguarded

13 ... d4 might be a little premature as White can respond Rd1 or O-O-O and equalize. However his response exd is clearly a poor move given the K's postion.

14 ... Rc8?  you missed Bg4 causing tons of mayhem.

15 Rd1 .. too bad you missed Ba4

18 ... Ne4  - You missed Ba4, but you already know that.

19 Nf3 ? Not sure why he didn't just Kg1, but

22 ... Rxc4 ! good move but maybe Bxc4 is better? The same mate threats apply, but the WhtQ is in danger too.  So maybe  22 ... Bxc4 ( if Nxc4 then Rd1#, if Rxa5 the Rd1 with mate to follow. If Qxc4 then Qxd2 with mate to follow. ) 23 Qd1 Qxd5 ( Black is a Rook up here and will capture the Knight shortly. creating lots of mating threats.

That being said I think Rxc4 was a good spot - very tricky, it nets you a minor, I am would only put it on the level of a Good tactic.

Despite what the trolls say, it is always good if you can take advantage of your opponent's weak moves and that is what you did.

Congrats

 [edit] nice analysis PoH .. don't know why I missed Rxd2.  [/edit]
