here is the funniest: 'yes'

only one person has done that to me, but lots have said things like: 'don't be ridicolous' or: 'I am wealybinn, I do not accept draws.' (I don't understand that myself but it must be normal, he says it every time). The most common thing I have said is: '.... oh, hang on, you said nice, didn't you.

Draw? only if it is to win a valuable prize and, where not pay anything ... ah! I love laughter ..

I had an opponent tell me to "F*** off" when I offered a draw as white in this position:

Now I admit, everyone would rather be black in this position but we'd been shuffling for about 10-15 moves and black simply cannot progress.  In any case, that sort of language is somewhat inappropriate!

There is a stroy about a strong player in my club rated somewhere 2040 national(about CM-NM level). Somewhat 20 years ago he was playing against a GM in a tournament. He had a better position so the GM asked "Draw?" and he replied "No". the next thing the GM said was "But I'm a grandmaster" and instead of a reply our team member made a gesture towards the centre of his body...(if you get what I mean)...and went on to win the game...lol

Keep playing to the 50 move rule then call for the tournament director. If he said F off at the draw offer, I can only imagine what sort of filth he'd be spewing after that.

In a losing position I usually start with "I accept your resignation".

I often get "????" in response

I assume then that their English is not so hot so I try:

"J'accepte votre resignation"

I sometimes get back:

"Vous etes un retard"

That is when I offer a draw.

I've never had a reply yet because the chat is usually disabled by this stage.

I've often said (in my head) "Put down the crackpipe, sonny" but I never type it because I'm scared there will be a flip and I'll end up losing after talking trash.  :)

When I ask the question...I just say "Is this a draw?" so I never get any weird responses.

King_Kanye4

sure I'll have a draw

Meadows, If your opponent said that in front of the director he would have forteited the game - Article 12.1 and 12.6a.

Aye, there were ramifications for him, but with a little luck my grade next season will push me up a section.

All jokes aside, I offered a draw to someone at an OTB game, he was a pawn and a knight down and he said, 'Naw, I wanna win this!'

BAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
