Would you play a variant of a NM?

Hello!

I wanted to know if you would play a variation on chess if someone introduced it was famous or a great chess player. You can even answer with a yes or no. I was looking to become a National Master (NM) in 5-7 years and wanted to encourage (and perhaps start my own chess website with the 2 variations that I created) people to play my variation. Do you think it would be successful? I was looking for people to even play for money online (or even somehow set up local tourneys).

Comments are appreciated, please be mindful of expletives.

Why include that last line? R u saying that u might use some expletives when you're posting in this thread?

Capablanca created Capablanca chess.

Seirawan created Seirawan chess.

There are dozens of chess variants out there, but these are two from a world champion and grandmaster (respectively).  They're also probably variants you've never heard of.

Good luck.

@maser75: no, I was saying it in part as a joke and for those who may want to say my idea is dumb with  strong emphasis.

@SupremeOverlord :  I didn't know someone could be a grandmaster in tic tac toe...

@waffllemaster: I've heard of both types of games, but if you are able to, you can see my variation, like Seirawan keeps the same 8x8 board, but it limits the queen's power and gives more power to the king (search for Checkmate 2 and Checkmate 3). You have a point, there are many chess variants (I've looked it up, there are   perhaps 100+ variations on chess). I found that out to confirm that someone didn't beat me to my idea. But Chess 960 is on this site, so what is your view on that?

No.

I do play Seirawan chess. Not becuase a GM whom I like and respect introduced it, but because it appeals to me.

Thanks Ziryab. There's hope for my variations yet...Laughing
