I had a similiar situation but I think I had it a little worse than you but I won with 26 seconds left on my clock after my opponent (who had over 10 minutes left) made a big blunder. It felt worth it that I stuck to the end. I'm playing black here.

I went a piece down early thx to good play by my opponent but I fought back and recovered to equalise and then went onto deliver a great endgame to win, thus proving that a game is never over until it is over.
