I will not name names, but I just looked at an account that is leading in my Legend division. The aforementioned account is nearly three years old and has played over 36,500 games. You would presume that, due to the incredibly high number of games they have played, that their elo would AT LEAST be over 800... What was their elo, you ask? 400 in both Blitz and Rapid.
I do not mean to shame my fellow chess players, but after playing almost 37,000 games of chess you should no longer be a beginner when it comes to skill; maybe you do not care about skill and just enjoy playing the game, but someone who has played 36,500 games seems more like someone who becomes irate at their losing so many games so they keep playing games until they win a few more, riding the Dopamine Train to the detriment of both their sanity and rating.
Instead of going on a losing rampage, we need to study tactics and openings more. Chessable is an excellent source for studying endgames and openings. No offense, but holy cow, some of y'all just keep playing like beginners after years of actively playing chess, all because you lose your cool and refuse to practice and study. But in the end, improving in chess is up to you, and if you enjoy losing, good for you. But most of us enjoy chess much more when we win more often because our skills increase, and I think the rest of y'all would too.
