Rench is the Joe Buck of chess commentating. The word bloviate comes to mind.
Yet another event with Rensch commentating

You can tell he's only thinking about himself and how he thinks he comes off no matter what the topic is, no matter what he's saying. He never says anything useful like Howell, Leko or even Naroditsky, who can't make it through a broadcast without several hundred very lazy puns, the inevitable making fun of several non-American pronunciations and of course mis-pronouncing last names of several players on purpose because I guess his fans find that amusing- even he is infinitely better than Rensch, who offers nothing but cringe, ever.
Wow, another tournament I won't be watching thanks to the utterly unbearable D. Rensch commentating. Why must that egomaniac constantly force himself on the chess world? Other than a handful of vocal fanboys no one likes his commentary- it's tired, uninspired and as always with him, super overbearing and smug. He never adds actual value to the commentary, and unless you find his trying too hard "jokes" funny then really what is there? I was very much looking forward to this event, I guess I can still watch the actual boards without commentary... yay. Literally anyone but Danny Rensch, please.
