you need to leave a game and you ask to draw

We all know aborting a game on chess can penalize you, sometimes you have to leave for work or do a task and you ask for a draw because you can’t resign or abort due to the penalty. But some people really are just salty and inconsiderate even after you explain this, they won’t draw. That is mannerless
IcyAvaleigh
yeah some people are pretty cheap trying to win like that 0_o personally I would always accept the draw (why not? it's just a game) unless I am clearly winning
Ubik42
You can take vacay time.
IcyAvaleigh
vacation time at live chess 0_o yeah right

It kind of depends on whether you are winning or losing, doesn't it? If it's a drawish position, why not?

UnderTactics

Yeah if I think I have any level of advantage for the most part I will refuse to resign, but unrated games are fun too if you've got things to do

But this is not far into the match and even if it’s so, i explained to the person sorry I have to go, it was just the beginning and we haven’t even had who is clearly winning and I still won at the end though because I received a message from chess threatening me about aborting or resigning so I was forced to play
jasmine097
I even also said chess messaged me that I was going to be penalized to the player

I feel in certain circumstances there is honestly no loss of if you draw, your points are not being deducted...is it just one or two points added thats bad ? And you can still more points with more matches
Pulpofeira

You won't ever be penalized for resigning, only aborting or stalling the game.

Pulpofeira

If I have time, I'll propose a draw if I think I'm better of equal. If it is not accepted, I shrug and resign. Never complain, never explain.

You can be penalized if you keep on resigning

jasmine097

I understand what you all mean, but I’m saying in certain circumstances drawing is not on purpose to be naughty we should try to be considerate and nice

You can be penalized if you keep on resigning

That would be if it happens too often and in early stages of the game, meaning you are most likely sandbagging.

You can't expect to start a game with someone at the wrong time & expect them to draw because of your mistake. I'm getting tired of people starting games with me when they shouldn't be. finish ya work first & then play when you get home instead.

CTFives501st

it is so unsportsmanlike, meanspirited, and ignorant to refuse after the situation has alreday been made clear...

Pulpofeira

It depends on the position.

Ian_Rastall

Sorry to keep up the necroposting. If you're going to ditch a game, you explain why, then you resign. Chesscom is looking to attract *titled* players, not *en*titled.

Resign, save face
