Hannibal Barkas vs. Deep Blue...
Actually I'm very excited by your suggested Tal vs. Botvinnik fixture.

Would it have to be a match that didn't actually happen? Because if you wanted to see Tal v Botvinnik all you would need to do is to go back in time.

You make a good point. I totally forgot about their World Championship match
Why don't we change it to say Steinitz vs. Tal (I was thinking of including Steinitz in the original post, but couldn't think of a good place to put him). One must also remember that Tal didn't play to his full potential due to his health situation.
I've been wondering recently, if I could choose any two players from history, be they alive or dead, who would I choose to watch sit down and play a match? Would it be two great tacticians, such as Alekhine vs. Kasparov? All-around solid players like Capablanca vs. Karpov? Or would I want a crazy game with two attacking geniuses like Tal vs. Botvinnik? Notice that I'm naming all world champions, but it can be players who have never won a championship.
I've named a lot of matchups above, but I think I'd most like to see Fischer vs. Kasparov. Arguably the two greatest players of all time, duking it out over the chess board. It's a shame Fischer left the chess world so abruptly, or I might have had my dream come true. So, I'd like to get some feedback. What is your perfect chess match?
