1 game/day?

Why do players get “vacation time” on 1 move/day games? I repeatedly play against players who just don’t move again and they have “months of vacation time” so the game pauses?

I select 1 move/day games because I want to actually move at least that frequently. It shouldn’t be able to pause unless both players agree.

If both players use most of the time control per move, the games could take a month or longer to complete, without vacation. Sometimes, things come up and people need to take time away from the site or from daily games and that's what vacation is for.

But that’s the point. It’s already gonna take a lot of time. If they want to play indefinitely create an option for that? Are you gonna let someone in a 10 minute game go on “vacation” because something came up? What is the point of saying it’s x amount of moves/time frame if you don’t actually hold the player to the time limits agreed on when accepting the challenge?

10 minutes is completely different than daily. The formrrvis the same as an OTB game with a clock. The latter is the online equivalent of correspondence chess and the extended time is something that's expected, so waiting for vacation, in most instances shouldn't really matter.

You can edit the title I think.
