Chess.com does'nt apply 50 move rule?? I played a game with Efendi888 who rejected my draw offer on move 57 in a oppoiste colored bishop ending ..and went on to play for time for next 160 moves and won on time in move 216...!

It's not a draw automatically. You have to claim the draw by clicking the draw button.

Wait...it was opposite colour bishop and he rejected!?

I think if there are opposite coloured bishops you should be able to claim a draw.

You have to claim the draw, kannupottan.

You do that here, I believe, by clicking on the "draw" button and, if 50 moves have been made w/o a capture or a pawn moved the draw is then automatic, your opponent is not offered the option to refuse.

There are those who think chess.com should arrange for an automatic draw w/o the need for a claim. But the site's arrangements accord with the rules of chess

Article 9.3 says

9.3

The game is drawn, upon a correct claim by the player having the move, if:

a.

he writes his move on his scoresheet and declares to the arbiter his intention to make this move, which shall result in thelast50 moves having been made by each player without the movement of any pawn and without any capture, or

b.

the last 50 consecutive moves have been made by each playerwithout the movement of any pawn and without any capture.

I have looked at the game.  The 60th move is a pawn move by black to a5.  So the 50 move rule doesn't apply until after move 110.  There is no glitch in the system at all.  You have to claim the draw, just like you have to claim the draw in an OTB competition.

Of course in an OTB competition you could claim the draw by chess rule 10.2 anyway, but of course no chess website has arbiters that can referee in real time live chess games on the website.
