I searched Help and FAQ for info on aborts, but found nothing. Was this a Live or Online game?

I always assumed that after both players moved, you couldn't abort anymore since the clocks started. Interesting.

For live chess, according to this http://support.chess.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=714
"You can end / abort a rated game before white has made its 4th move and it won't affect your ratings"
I've only played Online, so I don't know about the Live procedures. I suggest that you send a message to the staff via the Help feature.

Very interesting. I wonder why they allow you to do that in Live; doesn't seem very fair.
