Hi,

I am starting the trial period for Gold Membership.

I have 2 questions about what I'm going to pay in one week ...

1/ I plan to pay one year (not by month). Do I need to select an option somewhere ?

2/ A weird thing happened. I was expecting 25.60€ for the year as per https://www.chess.com/membership?cur=EUR  (as a visitor) ... now I am logged in and have selected the plan ... it's 29.99€ ... is there an explanation ?

EDIT: I have installed the app on my phone and it says ... 31.99€

I would imagine the different amounts reflect different days the currency exchange was calculated. Yes, they should all be the same.

I don't know which one you will get. €25.60 works if you use the 1.13 US$/ 1 € rate I see quoted currently when I Google it.

I would suggest writing to support@chess.com and have them ask the billing department. 

The Euro has been worth more than a US$ since 2003. There's therefore no way membership should cost more Euros than US$.

Perhaps there is an itunes surcharge.

I think there is a higher rate on iTunes due to the cut they take, though I'm not positive; that's just based on other similar topics I've seen.

Outcome:

- French yearly gold membership is 29.99€ when subscribed from chess.com (+2€ when subscribed from a mobile app)

- Support does give clear answers in a very reasonable time (2 days in my case)

All is well

Due to increases in new members, it is taking a lot longer to get responses from support. It can take up to a week.

Note that this link shows the right prices only if you are logged in.

You can also navigate Home > Membership

You should see 6 of them (Gold, Platinum, Diamond ... yearly and monthly)
