Hi all,
I started to play 3 month ago and kinda get addicted, so last week I tried the 7 day trial with diamond offer.
But this monday I was playing a match when a notification poped up stating that I was connected on another device (though it was family on my mobile) . I logged again and tried to finish my game just to get disconnected few second later.
Couldnt reconnect after that. I went directly to my mailbox to see an automated message from chess.com saying someone tried to connect on my account from Albania.
So presumably my account was stolen.
I made a post to the support explaining my situation and 2 day later a dude send me an email asking for my username.
I gave him my first username (it was changed automatically by chess.com without giving me an explanation, still no reply regarding that too...), my second one, and the original email adresse on account creation.
Now 3 days later, still no reply from support, no ways to cancel the 7 days trial as I dont have access to my account. The offer will be validate and I still not have access to the service.
This is purely extortion.
More over one of my friend told me that he checked my account and the thief even put on my account an avatar showing screenshot of stolen chess.com accounts (all premium accounts)... Like really ?
I'm an It engineer, so, just how long does it takes to this support to do a thing as simple as checking in DB and removing rights ????
It doesn't look like your account has a premium membership. I guess that means someone got your email.
It looks like some of your problems were caused by your having given an email address that bounced.
I didn't see any unusual avatar, so maybe that was removed.
I don't know if someone accessed your account but presumably resetting your password would fix the problem.
I hope you are all set now.

Salut,
