Alerts after every move, but only by some opponents

I have noticed that I receive alerts when an opponent has made a move (beyond the first move...), though it only happens for certain opponents.  I don't see anything in the settings to control this.  Nor do I understand why it happens for some opponents but not others.  Can anyone help clarify this?

I would like to have these alerts off, but can't find anywhere to make that happen. 

To turn off move alerts go to Settings > Alerts and Emails and toggle It's my move in a Daily Chess game to Off.

 Yes I see that now.  What is confusing is why it did not notify me about every move in every game...

I know that some of the alerts will only give one on the first instance since your last login. It's been a while since I've had more than one active Daily game at a time, but thought the alert icon would update after each new move in any Daily game.
