You should have played as many games as black as you did white to start! How is that chess.com's fault?

I don't think it actually works that way, does it? I mean, I think it just does it randomly, doesn't try to make up for past colors.
And by "always" she seems to mean 3 out of 10 (3 of her last 10 games have been as black).
Why do I ALWAYS get black, rather than white?
For a while, I could choose, now I cannot.
