Am I required to ask people for their permission before using their games in my blog?

I'm writing a blog and I plan to use several games played between me and some other members in the blog. Do I have to get their permission before using the games?

As far I know, no

There is literally no reason for you to ask permission to feature a chess game in your blog, for example all games on chess.com are in the player's game archive.

No but the polite thing to do would be to erase their name (e.g. GokuWeedLord420 is described in your blog as Black or White Player or something similar.)

PGN files are merely text and can be edited with Notepad or your text editor of choice. You only need to edit one instance of their name IIRC

One word

why
