I reviewed a game that started in the English Defense and during review, it says I played 31 games in that position but when I go to explorer, it says I have no games to load in that position. What gives?
Maybe you were looking at the statistics not from your games but from the database of master games here.

Here's a screenshot of the game, I click the "31" link, and then it tells me it only found one game in that position out of both playing as Black or White.
