Android app (newest) ad hijack

A full screen ad for a slot machine app has been popping up for few days, covering the app. Today I accidentially clicked on the ad as it showed up on a delay, which launched my browser. After closing my browser and the app before the page could load, the chess.com app used two megs of data and when I opened the app, the ad permanently hijacked the whole screen, included the setting screen so I could not log out. Clearing the app data restored the app and a malware scan came up clean, but this is not good ad behavior by any means. I will update if I experience further app, of

The app developers have been able to narrow down the issue with this slot-machine ad and have prepared a fix for the next release
