maybe it is because you have the app open. i usually have mine closed and i get a little pawn in the area where mail and message icons show up. but i am using a samsung epic, so it may be different on different phones.

I have almost the same, Leif - I tried out many different setting now: app completely switched off, app running in background, but nothing seems to work (with Android 2.2 on Galaxy i9000S).
"Luckily" the notification shows up when I open the game itsself - well, then I already know about changes ;-)
If someone has other ideas it'd be great...?

I'm a very happy user of the chess.com android app but the notifications of this app doesn't work for me :/ I've enabled them in the app and the running services screen shows me that the chess.com service is running in the background - but I never got a single notification when it's my turn.
My Device is a Motorola Milestone 2 with Android 2.2 and I'm not using any kind of task killer.
